Publication Ethics Statement

Journal Ulil Albab is an interdisciplinary scholarly journal published by Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Yogyakarta. The journal brings together research from the fields of science and technology, social sciences and humanities, as well as religious studies. Its scope emphasizes integrative, context-based, and contemporary scholarly contributions relevant to both national and global academic discourse.

The editorial board of Journal Ulil Albab welcomes submissions from scientists, researchers, academics, practitioners, and observers whose work aligns with the journal’s interdisciplinary orientation. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous selection process, including peer review by qualified reviewers and editorial refinement in accordance with established academic publishing standards. The views expressed in published articles are solely those of the authors and do not represent the journal or its affiliated institution.

Journal Ulil Albab is published twice a year, in January and July.

Editors' Responsibilities

The Editors of Journal Ulil Albab are responsible for determining which submitted manuscripts are suitable for publication. Editorial decisions are guided by the policies of the Editorial Board and must comply with applicable legal standards regarding defamation, copyright, and plagiarism.

During the review and decision-making process, the Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political orientation.

Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the author, reviewers, and relevant editorial members as required in the publication process.

Unpublished manuscripts must not be used in the Editors’ own research without the author’s explicit written consent. Confidential information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not employed for personal advantage. Editorial decisions must remain fair, objective, and free from commercial or institutional bias, in accordance with established peer-review standards.

Reviewers' Responsibilities

Reviewers assist the Editors in making informed editorial decisions by providing constructive, critical, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts.

Reviewers must provide objective assessments supported by clear, evidence-based arguments.

Reviewers are responsible for identifying relevant published work that has not been cited, detecting similarities or potential plagiarism, and notifying the Editors of any ethical concerns.

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be used for the reviewers’ personal or professional benefit.

Authors' Responsibilities

Authors must present their research or scholarly work clearly, accurately, and free from plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification.

Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy of the content and the claims presented in their manuscripts.

Submitted works must be original, must not infringe on the rights of others, and must not be under consideration or published elsewhere.

Authors must properly acknowledge all sources and references used, ensuring that the ideas and works of others are cited appropriately.

Manuscripts must be written ethically, honestly, and in accordance with accepted academic writing standards. Authors are strictly prohibited from submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

Publisher's Responsibilities

As the publisher of Journal Ulil Albab, Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Yogyakarta is responsible for ensuring that articles are published following proper editorial procedures, including peer review, editing, and layout, according to established academic publishing standards.

The publisher is committed to upholding academic freedom for editors and reviewers in performing their roles without interference.

The publisher is also responsible for protecting privacy, safeguarding intellectual property and copyrights, and maintaining editorial independence.
