Akhlak Guru sebagai Panutan dalam Pembentukan Karakter Siswa di MTsS Muhammadiyah Sejangkung

This study aims to describe and analyze the role of teacher's character (akhlak) as a role model in shaping student character at MTsS Muhammadiyah Sejangkung. As an Islamic educational institution, the madrasah requires educators not only to master cognitive material but also to become a manifestation of moral values for students. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through participatory observation in the school environment, in-depth interviews with the headmaster, teachers, and students, as well as documentation studies. The results indicate that the teacher's character, reflected through discipline, polite speech, social concern, and consistency in worship, becomes the primary instrument in internalizing student character values. The modeling process occurs naturally through daily interactions, where students tend to imitate the teacher's actual behavior rather than mere verbal instructions. This study concludes that the integrity of the teacher's character is a highly effective "living curriculum" in supporting the success of character education in the madrasah.
